Description

The little ones do watch their reflections in the water. Michael, you wanted to know if they were like your cat playing with a mirror. The adults don't seem to respond, but the chicks are very interested in the duck looking back at them !

Thanks, Bev! I assume the reflection is very interesting to the young - "Who is that? Where's he at? Oh, he disappeared when I did that movement." And as an adult, they've become used to the mirror image and maybe even understand it's a picture of "me", and thus don't have any interest in the "stranger" under the water level any more. Good job catching the mirror image with the small waves distorting it, much as the chick would see it. I bet it took a while to get this - very good focus! Keep them coming! :-)
