I love the painterly look you got with this. This makes me think of the old San Jose Mission, what it must have been like before they restored it. The part that remained intact, even after 250 years. The bricks, the adobe foundations, the packed earth, supporting what was left. Sunlight and shadow would have fallen on those parts, all those years, creating beauty every day. Thank you for this ... it's lovely!

Lucinda, this is a very nice dedication for your friends. I can tell you put a lot of thought into this and it most certainly is one of those images that stands out. The mixture of textures here tell a story all their own, of times past and present. Nice idea you had and brilliant job on the presentation.

I thought I'd commented on this---mea culpa! I'm a little late. But it's a magical reflection image, with old bricks made liquid in the water, surrounded by dirt, detritus, pebbles, etc, which surround the image. And by the ripples that break the image up, as if this were an abstract painting---with bricks so clearly 'painted' in the middle of it. Reflections are one of Tara's specialties, and I'm sure that's why you posted a reflection shot: But it's also with your touch, your way with colors and forms, and of course from your part of the world---which you'd shared with t, b and m. The brick pillar is right down the center---good composition!---and the rest is an oil painting of brick textures and grainy pebbles and dirt. An enchanting dream image, and just right for tara. Happy Birthday Tara (as if she's reading this at this late date, lol), and wonderful work, Lucinda. A wonderful dedi!
