Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I onlyĀ use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. IĀ carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series,Ā binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
IĀ am gettingĀ theĀ hang ofĀ Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Ā
I have a wildlife gardenĀ in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagersĀ a while ago.
I'mĀ now getting some good results withĀ my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, butĀ the mistakes are much cheaper!Ā Ā
I haveĀ 4 lodgers,Ā 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Smart idea with the cheap food. They sure are cute, though, aren't they? :)

So Lovely , we have lots here,

Excellent capture of this squirrel, they certainly can be cheeky and little gets between them and their food, I guess he might be keeping one eye out to make sure Ralph has not spotted him :-)

That's how we handle it too; I have quite a huge herd of them at my house, so the good food goes in the hanging tray with a baffle, and the cheap stuff goes in the ones they can get to (by working--I don't make it easy!) I love them, they're so much fun to watch; you got a great capture of this one.

Stellar capture of an arboreal rodent that already looks well fed, but still out for more of any kind of sustenance it can lay its tiny paws on.

Ah, those loveable little tree-rats.... Their best defense is such disarming cuteness! This is a wonderful shot of the little rascal!

Outstanding capture. Very cute trespasser. Just keep Ralph away. BTW - how are the birds?
jocko500
he do look happy to get some food. cool shot

wonderful capture... he looks like he has more than enough been fed

Rats with a cute, fluffy tail. They used to get into our goat's feed sacks - they would rip open the bags and scatter the feed everywhere, just eating the corn. Rat traps baited with corn stuck in peanut butter helped thin them out.

they eat all, cheap or not.. great and perfect done picture, i like very much the position on the fence from this little fellow!!

Amazing capture Andrea. God bless.

I can understand not wanting to feed them with expensive food.. good idea on the cheaper food :) Nice of you to feed the squirrels as well :)
moochagoo
Nice little rascal :)

It takes a lot to keep them from the peanuts.

We've a wire running the from one tree to another, a rather lengthy bit of it, with the feeder hanging from it, and the squirrels figure out how to get to it, sometimes "running" the along upside down to get to the feeder! John even has put out a squirrel feeder. Of course that just attracts more squirrels, so not the solution he hoped for (: A lovely capture of this tree rat, as they are called around these parts.

A fantastic capture and they are so bold - especially if you encourage them!
