Fascinating craft. I know this guy who built his own plane. The first time he flew it? It fell straight down out of the sky. LOL. I know. Not funny. But he was kind of an a-hole, you know? Years ago, my ex-wife worked for his wife and he was always very slimy, lewd. But I think he only broke his leg anyway. He didn't get very far off the ground. Heh heh.

I had the opportunity to fly one of these. I was a flight instructor back in the 90's. Not much of a fixed wing guy. Hughes 500/Bell 206 mostly. But a friend owned one and needed a BFR. He was qualified and current he was PIC. I sat in the back. He did a good job on the requirements then let me play a bit. What I noticed was that the wing was very stiff. Felt every change in the air. Plexiglass seat with some foam. Not enough foam. My spine felt it by the time we landed. Made me think that it was capable of taking quite a beating and performing well. Rutan had some great designs. Thanks for sharing.
