Description
Venice. The Frari’s Basilica. Left transept. Elegant monument dedicated to Generosa Orsini and her son Maffeo Zen (1498). The urn with its Lombardesque patterns is supported by two corbels and a lion on either side. It is surrounded by a circle with a small Madonna on the top. Beneath there is a double-headed eagle and two angels. Some experts attribute the monument to Pietro Lombardo (1435-1515), whereas others attribute it to Antonio from Verona.
