amazing photo and surreal landscape

This was taken in 1978, shortly before the devastating fire which burned up 1/3 of Yellowstone National Park. The photo was made just moments after the sun had broken over the horizon, giving the lighting effect. I stood there for 20 minutes, waiting for it to happen.

DOUBLE WOW !!!! Congatulations, what a fantastic shot (check the ZooooM). I know its a matter of taste, but I would have chosen a more warmer tone on th PW (the blue tones give it a sureal feel which may have been your intention, if so perfect) Popped into Fav´s

I had experimented with a number of different tonings and brightness/contrast combinations with PhotoShop before settling on this one. The picture won 2 end-of-year plaques for me at the photo club. (Best Picture & Novice Photographer Of The Year)
