Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa---this is your campsite, the place you stay all summer? This is the place? Wow. It's beautiful. I didn't know you faced all that dark forest. (If this is all in your blog, I haven't had the time to read it, so, like, if you two got married again and had 6 kids and bought a house in Madagascar, I don't know any of that...) What a nice view! And was that log and stone already there, or did you or someone else put it there (as design)? Is that part of your 'deck'? Either way, it's a beautiful rustic thing to look at, any time of day or night. And the light is precious in your shot, and the hues are surprisingly full---when we zoom, the reds, yellows and blues glisten. A very sweet and surprisingly colorful shot, and a lot of mystery packed into the background. Verrrrrry nice, Sir Bill! (And re light shifting: I wrote a letter. I've run to the lake at dawn, run out to the right spot---I was late---set all my settings, and the sun hit just the right spot---the pinks were out, the blues were luminous, it was magic-time---and I sneezed, and, boom: I missed the freakin' shot. 2 seconds later? The sun moved. It moved!! It freakin' moved, no "are you finished?", no "can I move now?" It just MOVED. And---god knows how this happens---the pinks went south, the blues turned just "blue," the whole dawn turned into "morrrrrr-ninnnnnng," and it was over. I've literally yelled out there. I'm not kidding: As I get older, I don't care. Runners have come by and told me to calm down and enjoy the dawn. Well, when you got a few minutes for the most spectacular light shows goin', and then you're finished----don't get me started. There should be a place we put in quarters, the sun stays. It sticks around. What's 5 minutes, the end of the world? China won't wait??? Don't get me started. Don't get me started...)
