Description
Next in this series is the 1958-Ford-Classic Re-tractable Hardtop Convertible 2-Tone color. Incase you may not have known the "57" & "59" Ford also had these re-tractable hardtops. I never owned one but at one time I thought of buying one. I later was glad I didn't get one as many Ford owners told me they had a lot of trouble with the tops on these cars opening & closing or just breaking all together, so of course this changed my mind on ever owning one. I think that's where the saying came out that said the Word FORD stood for-"FIX OR REPAIR DAILY". ----Go figure. I do like this beauty, hope you do too. Thanks for stopping in for a look, or leaving a comment.

Had a 58 Country Sedan when I was younger... (i.e. just learning to drive, and first after getting license) Without all the Roof mechanics it was a pretty dependable old girl!!!! Some one did a beautiful job restoring that one!! But understand the advice on the early ones was to leave the top either up or down.... Excellent Shot!!!

I saw one of these in action at a Sussex classic car show once. I was blown over by it and seriously wanted one. I guess back in 58 things like this were going to have problems, unreliable maybe but seriously, how cool does it look.

or "fail or rust down". still it was a beautiful year for Fords. I really would have liked to have had one. I have had two Fords and both were brand new when I bought them. the van was a champ and I really enjoyed it. however a 80 Ford pickup was a piece of crap from day one.the brakes kept failing and all the dealer would do was to replace the pads. I kept telling them to replace the discs as they had to be warped. finally they paid a shop of my choice to fix them. I ask the shop to replace the discs and the pads never wore out the remaining time I had it. however all the other major problems out of warranty was a night mare
