Description

I haven't posted in a long time, but I have still been lurking about here. I recently went back to college for a bit and even figured out what was wrong with my mainframe! 4 years and 3 I.T. guys couldn't figure it out...they said it was software, but I knew better...It was the wireless card the first I.T. guy didn't lock in place with the needed screw. I have upgraded a little from that time. I now use a USB wireless plug; I added more Ram, a liquid cooling system and a SSHD as the primary memory for my operating system! System Stats: Processor - AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core (7.1) Memory (Ram) - Corsair 8.00GB (7.2) Graphics - ATI Radeon HD 4850 X2 (7.2) Gaming graphics - 4863 MB total memory (7.2) Primary HD - 46GB Free (111 GB Total) (7.2) System: Gigabyte Tech, Model GA-MA770-UD3, 64-bit OS Storage: 1975 GB Total Display: 3 - 1680x1050 Acer Monitors and 1- 1920x1080 LED Acer Monitor. It is now fully operational and keeping pace with the newer tech!

Nice! Aggememnon, (http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1345052&user_id=59714&page=3&member&np) which I first built back in 2006, finally died, so I'm in process of building a new one. Since I'm bringing everything FINALLY off of XP to Win 7, I'm doing a build out myself. Plan is to upgrade my current desktop to Win 7, then xfer the files and apps back onto the currernt XP desktop (which was purposely built to support the up and coming (at the time) Windows 7 release as a 64-bit system). Buidling a new temporary Aggie II that will ultimately become my new regluar desktop and teh plan is to create a new Aggie (III?): AMD FX-8320 Vishera 3.5GHz (4.0GHz Turbo) BIOSTAR TA970 ATX AMD Motherboard (Supports up to 64GB of RAM) 16 GB HyperX Fury Black Series 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 Desktop Memory (2) 1 TB Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6Gb/s HDDs

Good God, 64 GB of RAM!!! To call it 'impressive' is to say the very least! I plan on building another system eventually, but first I need to gainful employment. If it is soon then I plan on the AMD 8 core processor. Currently I run Windows 8 on the Beast and on my laptop Mini-Beast. I like the way they talk to each other so easily using (not 8.1). My phone even gets into the conversation between the two of them, lol. My wife's laptop is another story. It's a Dell Latitude D610 and rates a solid 1.0 on the Windows Experience Chart....yeah, a 1.0, but it took Windows 7 and was able to join the communication group. Now the Beasts, the Dell, her phone and mine and the printer all talk to each other...if only our daughter would let me at her laptop for a moment or two the whole family could actually communicate, lol.

Thank you! I've been visiting, but finding time to do anything more than viewing what's new is difficult. I pray all is well with you.

Ha! I can't believe the problem was an unseated card! I built a new 8 core AMD about a year and a half ago. It renders over twice as fast as my old PC. One of the video cards was defective however and luckily I troubleshot it and replaced it under warranty.

That is great news! Unfortunately for me there was no warranty for my equipment. The next system I plan on building will also have the 8 core processor from AMD, as well.
