“I was sent here to assassinate you. Much planning went into this mission, but, as I look down on your beautiful face, I cannot take your life. This scene is a scene that strikes me deeply. Much of my stories are based in part from our own Terran history, though I take many liberties with history. I'll share where the idea for the story came from. Prince Edward V and Prince Richard were imprisoned in the Tower of London and later murdered. Now to do the what if; the boys likely slept in the same bed/crib/cradle since they were born. I would imagine for a sense of security for the children or perhaps just convenience for the nurse that cared for them. So, what if two princes lay sleeping next to each other when an assassin stole into their room to remove the heir for whatever nefarious reason. But, what if that assassin suffered a moment of compassion when he looked down on the face of the boy. Perhaps the assassin had not been able to have a son of his own and something deep in the assassin's dark heart came alive, perhaps the assassin felt a link to the son he never had. And the assassin spent the rest of his life secretly watching over the child. Killing any other would-be assassins that tried to come near the little prince.
