We had some of these at MCAS(H) New River Air Station in the late '60's - early 70's. They didn't look this spiffy, though.

Nice shot, probably the one from the Villingen-Schwennigen museum, that has recently been restored to fly again. What hurts the aerodynamicist's (and sailplane fan's) eyes about this plane are those short rectangular wings. What an amount of induced drag! Couldn't they have given it two trapezoidal outer wings with some more span? The Wheelchair-General
