Description

I have always liked having a cat with the girls. It gets them used to them & so not worry too much when they see them when out. I usually say when we do, "Its only a puss cat like!!!!" So we have left to right :- Puss Puss, she was a little love. She came to me because my friend had a baby & couldn't cope with her, well I managed with my boys?????? Tiggy, was a little bit timid, her & Puss Puss got on so well. I get very sad when I remember her as she was killed by a dog & it was my friends. Terrible!!! Thomas, he was an amazing cat. When we went to the rescue to look at him the lady said "You don't have to have him if you think he is ugly?" Flip how could we not after that!!!!! You could do anything with him, If he had to have pills or when he was wormed, they were just crushed up in his food & he would eat them & not bother!!! I remember him wearing a babies tee shirt once when he had skin trouble due to his thyroid. He was so laid back, if he was sat at the open door, the girls wouldn't push past him they would come & tell me he was there & they couldn't get out, so would I move him. Same with the water bowl if he was sat there they wouldn't drink but come & tell me he was there. Haven't a clue why as he NEVER did anything to them. he used to sit with them like Mr. Buck does with these girls. Now Rupert was a very different story, I used to volunteer at rescue kennels & Rupert was there, he used to rub round my legs & purr away when I cleaned his bed, I loved Ginger cats BUT when I got him home he didn't like me at all & would swipe out at me as soon as look at me. Think he must have belonged to man as he loved being with my son & his mates. The only time he would acknowledge me was when I hoovered the stairs, he would come & want to be hoovered, funny cat. He was fine with the girls though!!! He died the same day as Hattie & they are buried together in the garden. Bernie was adoped with Rupert, I asked the rescue if they would find me a cat to go with Rupert, that got on together. Hmmmm, poor Bernie was frightened of Rupert, they didn't fight but Bernie was warey of him. Rupert ruled his garden, if I asked Bernie if he wanted to go outside he would usually look out the door & decide not to but if Rupert was out Bernie would go to as he felt safe & he knew no other cat would challenge Rupert :o) Then we come to present day Mr. Buck an amazing cat. I think Bernie would have loved him & they would have been great mates. All my cats are rescues, I always go for the oldest in the kennels as I know people want the young kittens or young adults. The older the better for me. Thanks for all the lovely comments & favs, so, so appreciated. xxx

I did enjoy reading all about the cats that you have had in your life, and actually remember them all apart from the first as I never met that one. Lovely shots of them all too. hugs and love xxxx

I loved the pictures, but more then the pictures, I love that each cat's story was written too. I think that was the best part. I remember Bernie, I must have started coming to visit your gallery after both Hattie and Rupert had passed on. I was always amazed that your cat got on so well with all the dogs! And Mr. Buck, who would think a cat off the streets would fit so in so well, so fast! It was like he was meant to be your cat. You've had some wonderful dogs Barb, and some totally amazing cats! I dont' see where Thomas could conceivably be considered ugly. Gracie Anne came to us because the family who had her couldn't cope with her, they said she was too active! What did they expect from a puppy? Sigh. Surely you are blessed to have given such a warm and loving home to so many.
