Description


The remains of an engine house that once housed a Cornish Beam Engine. These engines were used to pump water and haul tin and copper ore from the mine. This one is near St Agnes, North Cornwall.

Looks very lonely and forgotten, similar in design to an old sandstone mill I visited when I was a kid. Neat composition and find ! ~Cheers~

I recognise this engine house Steve !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is the one located in the Chapel Porth Valley, St. Agnes by the name of Wheal Lawrence ! One of my favourite places -- especially when all the heather is in full bloom. Did you walk along to Wheal Coates ? Great Picture - may be I should upload one of mine on this site With best wishes ..... Michael
