Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Am very intrigued as to what the word (if it's a word) is, I have even used a mirror but can't decipher !!!

Very nice postwork on this shot, Andrea :-) Glad you had a good time :)

You make it almost look good, Andrea; I still think taggers should get the death sentence, or at the very least have their hands removed!

Tagging can be so ugly by those who can only dream of being gifted graffiti artists. I like both but the one with the car passing is a bonus with the post work. Tagging exists almost everywhere in the country in one spot or another.

Wanton criminal damage, if it were up to me, I'd have this tattooed on their body, preferably the forehead, I would like a great big emblazoned 4 letter profanity that they cannot hide, you recall that one carved on the bench? I hate them, they are mindless piles of cat shit.

Sorry Andrea in my outburst, I had forgotten to say anything about this super image, I like the fact that you post worked this, as said about, you turned mindless scrawl into a work of art, Just those cretinous wipes wouldn't see that!

Love both versions of this image! I agree with Adobe_One_Kenobi but as an added bonus to their punishment - break their hands in such a manner that they will never be able to do any sort of vandalism every again - the courts have gone too soft on these criminals for far too long...

Taggers are like dogs. They have to leave their scent wherever they go. The difference between the two is I like dogs. You've done an excellent job of making it look interesting.

Great postwork on both! You've made the tag blend in with the background, giving them the same treatment and equal weight. I like the balance you've struck here!

Like what you have done with this graffiti!!!!

Some people above got really upset by the graffiti, but from the art standpoint, it's wonderful. And your treatment has made everything into a big symphony of intersecting isobars and islands and shorelines. It's wonderful. The graffiti is part of the whole. And I love how the color areas just sweep into other color areas. A lot of interaction here. A terrific piece of postwork, and very rich dark greens! 'S Wonderful!!! (That's a Gershwin joke. "'S Wonderful! 'S Marvelous! That you should care---for me!" It's really a great song, beautifully written. His songs have very classical qualities, like a modern Schubert...) Really rich greens, and that big green post---part of the bus, 1/4 of the way from the left frame---is terrific. Voila!

In the US, gang tags claim possession of the property or tagged item. A more powerful gang will then tag over this tag etc. It ends up just a sloppy mess!
