Description

Having just honored our military, I thought I would look back to our Civil War again and both display and put on Sale today my Poser model of the USS Alligator, first Union Civil War Sub. Look for it later today at 30% off. Both and exterior and interior model, it is divided into upper and lower halves to make it easier to pose figures inside as depicted here. The model was also used to create the exterior view of its sinking off Hatteras ..the canvas print of which is now hangs in the Shipwrecks of the Atlantic museum in Hatteras. For those who like dark under lit cramped environments to show off the stress in puts man into... the perfect model.

Your work on the model is only outdone by your art.

Thanks Dan... we will see. I've been holding off for a few years doing a composition of a deck operation. I guess I wore myself out after doing the hanger scene.

You definitely know how to do it right, Don! Another nice model, but your renders are spectacularly and meticulously lighted. (I've always been amazed and awed by the water in that particular render. It's my benchmark.)

Your too kind Bill. After doing the carrier, I just had to re-highlight this sub model which I am surprised has had few takers. I may not have do a good job of showing that I have it open in two halves to make it easier to pose figures inside. As both interior and exterior model, I also thought there was plenty of possibilities for compositions..but then who knows anymore. Still proud of it. BTW, I plan to convert my RAF Bi plane soon to Poser. Keep pushing those brushes in your wonderful way my friend.

Amazing detail and texturing in this, and the stormy sea is perfectly done!

Thanks Phil....a model that I have worked on for many years...one of these days it will catch on and sell a few. I fully understand that it takes an effort to poser a half dozen or so figures inside this tube..but I have made it as easy as I can by being able to pull the top half off.....

Very interesting historical model. I know that you like History. I like it too. You have done a very good collage of 4 different views showing us all what we need to understand the working of this prcursory and amazing submarine. What about the Monitor and the Merrymack/Virginia?
