My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.

Beautiful work on the lily

A real stunner, Tara. Sometimes art imitates life. Sometimes it goes life one better.

WOW Tara. I dropped my jaw when I saw this beauuuutiful painting. This made my day. I was tempted to try it out myself. But now I wouldnt dare HAHAH! You really did a wonderful job. Maybe it was an idea to get it printed out on a canvas? Superbly done :-) In that way you can hang it on your wall. AND I didnt even remember, there was this challenge in the forum. I forgot all about it. Well, now it is almost ended. I am way behind so much. SIGH! Maybe I should try this too, I mean to trace. I never did that. Made a misserable watercolor the other day and I lost it again. I will later today try with pastel.

Successful work, really beautiful!

Such a beautiful result, and I think it is extremely interesting to see the two. I do love variations on a theme, maybe I will have a go at an abstraction of this. I have lost internet access on my PC since this morning, and can't upload photos from my tablet, so it will probably be Saturday before I can get that seen to.

I saved you and bill for the end, today, but now my computer's sputtering again, so I don't know if I'll get anything out besides this right now---but I'll get this at all costs. This is a beautiful painting, tara. You turned an already beautiful photo into a true painterly vision. It's very soft in feel, but it has total clarity and vividness throughout. Your highlights are luminous: Your luminous almost-neon green, the beautiful lights in those purples, the natural highlights across the lily petals, and the lights in the upper left corner and the strip of blue under the flower, etc etc, are just beautiful. Sumptuous light, luminous and creamy. You turned the surfaces into silk, the big leaves on the right side are lush and rushing with dark veins, and the shaft of leaves on the top---right above the flower on the right---are like a 'presence'. A living presence. It's a big living pulsing thing, wholly natural but also very abstract---but lushly and voluptuously abstract too. And your light is beautiful. Yes, it's a big deal to paint even when you've been doing it a long time; but it paid off beautifully. A sumptuous re-interpretation of Andrea's beautiful photo, and I"m really impressed. When you feel like doing this again, please do: It was worth the time and immersion. Just beautiful!

You know, when I first saw this, I thought "Aha! Tara's working in ArtRage! LOL! This is gorgeous, dear Tara! You've done a lovely job on this water Lilly! A wonderful, painterly look! It's been forever since I've played with ArtRage... I really need to find the install file, and put it on the new system with the Cintique...

Wow! I can't even begin to imagine how you do this. Fantastic work, you multi-talented woman!

Artrage rocks, fun program and you did it so well. The colors are perfect. You should print it and frame it, it's awesome.

I have me also tried it in the photo painting. It's fun and when you see the result.... one looks forward. So it must happened to be you. The water lily has become fantastic, Tara!!! Maybe you would like to make more such images.

This is coming out so very soft, and I'm impressed by your artwork, dear friend. I remember that in my comment to Andrea's photo I wrote, that it looks like a painting, and here you go, Tara. You 'fixed' it, haha. The ArtRage program I'm going to look for on the Internet, I have no idea if there is one which is in Dutch. Have a nice painting-day, my friend. :)

This is beautiful! I love the highlights. When I looked at Andrea's image, I was struck by the velvety texture of the leaf on the right. You have emphasized that wonderfully and bought that velvety beauty to the water and flower too. I love how you have done the orange colors and the veins of the leaf. Very beautiful!
