Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Plenty of interesting stuff in there :-) Excellent shot Andrea :-)

Poshies here in London are buying up old red tele boxes for shower cubicles LOL! What a difficult time I would have in that. Picture the scene as I am trying to cram 6' 4" and 17 stones into a telephone box my belly alone would present a dilemma :) Wonderful scene you captured here Andrea.

Wonderful captures, they have some very interesting stuff there, red telephone boxes are very expensive to obtain these days, in their day they were often used as public toilets and always smelt of pee. maybe the little one could be converted into a elaborate bird box with a bit of style. Milk churns are also very popular for the garden.

Oh this is so impressive, Andrea. I would like to scurry around and see everything. I guess, this is a place where everything is collected, which is thrown away, or what is this? In any case, I think it's very special, and I thank you for posting this excellent photo. A pity Mike wants the phone box, as I like it so much too. ;-)

I love Reclamation Yards!! So much so that my wife has banned me from visiting them. Got enough junk already she says! Great shot Andrea :)

What a fun collection that is!

Much more interesting than our local offerings. Buddha in a bucket?

So much to see...I'd have a ball in there. Neat shot.

I can see several shots I'd like to take, just standing right here! What a wealth of artistic possibilities all in one place!

Ooooh, a real mish mash of delights! Decayed, weird, vivid, thrown together, fey---I love this. And the "buddha in a bucket" is great too. Right out of the scriptures. ("The Ananda-Maya Bucket Sutras," it could catch on.) But here you have a buddha too; you have Michelangelo's David with a bit of a skin condition, you have a Pacific Island gigantic head (at the bottom of the Circus of Horrors---those faces are not jovial), a great old phone booth, an ancient Chinese warrior (on top) or maybe he's someone from Beowulf (also not big laughs at parties), all kinds of metal-lace----man, this is a collection! A great, glorious mess, and the sign---CIrcus of Horrors---is perfect for the whole piece. You got just the right "center" for the shot. Love it. (I still can't get the "buddha in a bucket" out of my head. Sounds like a dish at an all-you-can-eat restaurant, for a large family. "We'll take the large Buddha in a Bucket, with a side order of chakras." Buddha wouldn't have cared---that dude'll meditate ANYWHERE---but he looks stunning sunken in a big industrial pail...great pair of shots, Andrea!)

OMGosh! You've stumbled into Heaven!!!

I would like to have that phone booth! Maybe Doctor Who would come for a visit!
