Description

I saw several butterflies in Madeira but the one posted is the only one I managed to capture, so here is a caterpillar instead.

very sharp macro. I seen on the net this morning that a caterpillar from S.America looks like a snake. if approached, it will strike.however it can not bite

Oh, how great, Jeff. Thank you so much!!! I'm excited about how high this caterpillar sits, and so middle of these beautiful flowers and lush greenery. I have no idea how great this caterpillar is, but I have to think of the caterpillar of the Swallowtail. And when I look at the link Richard posted, it's probably some kind of Swallowtail. Anyway, I feel honored that he is for me, my dear Victorian friend!
