Description
Captured 4/27/14, at the beautiful Renaissance Faire, held at the beautiful Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area, in semi beautiful Irwindale, California.
ZOOM to better view the facial expressions.
Having so much fun with this Faire series that I've forgotten the pain in my body from the visit.

wonderful capture of this group at the Renaissance Faire...but the man behind the three ladies make a real historic error...the musketeers are at first in the 1622 year !!! teh renaissance is ended at 1590...30 years before !!!

You're most likely correct here, my friend, but on this particular day at the Faire, it was designated that anyone could wear anything they wanted from any historical period.

Love the interaction here.

I love your ladies Harry. I see one even has a period Bud Lite in hand:-) Zoom for sure!

Another great capture of the colourful faire ladies, Harry; strange to see the modern beer logo and the Bic pen and sunglasses, but California has a long history of doing things its own way. It's probably a much more comfortable way to experience a faire than the original ones way back in history. Not sure I'd like the fleas and muck and stenches much myself!

Great looking ladies mate! Looks a fun event, I see she could not help but hold a plastic cup though.. No mead though? By the way camera details of my shots are below the photo.. The last one was 300mm focal length.. With a 400mm lens.. And lol, no not all American planes are in the UK m,ate.. The Pearl Harbor P-40 has just gone back to the US.. But.... a Lockheed Constellation has just arrived! Sorry lol Rob

Well I'm at 90 minutes now (and not a hitch! the process didn't drop out once), and I think 9 shots, so I have to move on to get in a few in other galleries; but, as always, my visits here are wonderful...This is as good a place to stop as any, for the wild mix of elements in an otherwise very relaxed moment. More of what street photography is about: The 3 women---sans costumes---are in an enjoyable 3-way talk, with 3 different expressions. You're very deft at getting these groupings head on without disturbing them from their conversations. (And equally adept at getting them when they DO look at you, btw.) But when you add the costumes and accouterments---real street shooting. With these Renaissance outfits (or close), one lady's got a modern pen (bic, accdg to Denise), a pad on which she seems to be taking notes, a straw hat which I'm pretty sure doesn't come from the 1500s, and a lady next to her is holding a "Bud Light" glass---in plastic, no less, one of the hallmarks of a fine Renaissance drink!---and looking like it's no big deal. (I think it was Shakespeare who said, "With this flagon of Bud Light do I thee salute, my Liege!") And to top it off, a guy behind them with a big cross pouring through the mix. (Nice inclusion!) Maybe to warn that middle lady, "if you're gonna drink, at least try something from the time---mead, wine, something!" Another fine street candid, a real delight. You get these contrasting details with real clarity---that's what makes them so much fun. Man you're gonna have to get someone to put on more of these fairs---you're an absolute natural at these!
