UPDATED:Ā September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill andĀ I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008.Ā We share aĀ loveĀ for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting toĀ share photographic excursions and informationĀ withĀ other Renderositians ( isĀ "Renderositians" evenĀ a word? ).Ā LOL
Ā
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) cameraĀ until May 2008.Ā InĀ May 2009Ā I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
Ā
My subject areas of interestĀ include absolutely everything but with a frequentĀ return toĀ airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
Ā
If you are curious,Ā I am pictured aboveĀ in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport.Ā IĀ used to flyĀ and train others to fly airplanes.Ā ThatĀ will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation.Ā Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Ā
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Wow, that's so pretty! I was only there once, in October of 1994, and it was hot and not at all pleasant. This is a gorgeous capture that makes me wish I was there now!

I would love to go back there (and I'm sure we will) but not with the stroller ... that was a bit much! This is a gorgeous shot. You've done an amazing job with that red tree and the greens reflected in the water. Beautiful!

A river that is a walkway? I must be missing something, so let me get oriented hereā¦.I assume the walking part is to either the right or left of this river? Either that, or it's time for hip boots. In any event. nice lighting effects in this capture of the San Antonio River and environs, Bill.

A really gorgeous shot, Bill! This makes a lovely Christmas scene. Wow - they must have done a lot of improvements - the river walk didn't look anything like that when we lived there. Of course, that was the early 70s, too....

Bill, this is splendid. It's a day scene but your light is so shaded and intense, it's almost a dream scene. It's gutsy to allow the left half to be in dark hues like that, but the reds are that much more powerful as a result, in that they break through the shadow as a heavy and brilliant presence. The dark shadows that follow the river to the end of the shot (on top) makes this a mysterious journey. Quite evocative. The bright light on the right walkway balances out the shadows; and you have beautiful dots of light throughout the green leaves. But then there's the water, the 'ground' of the shot: Such a deep green; and the light in front is perfect---you couldn't have composed this better if you put all the elements there by hand. It's a splendid shot of a river surrounded by a city: the walkways, stone abutments, the railings, all closing in on the river, as cities do; and here, in the best of ways, rather than in the choking way some urban riverfronts do. Above all, it feels like a folklore journey, something very folktale-like. It's beautiful. You did great work on this, Bill. I love it.

An excellent capture of San Antonio's famous and beautiful River Walk! On my bucket list and still planning a trip through Texas.

What a great life it must be traveling from place to place. I've enjoyed the photo-journal of your travels, especially those of my home state and this lovely shot of the River Walk, and the other places in the southern states that you have been to recently. Best of luck and safe travels to you and Tara. :)

Another gem I missed. The color saturation here is so rich - it seems like it should be too much, but it isn't - it works beautifully. And, once again, your composition is flawless...

it is pleasant to walk there. I want to return someday

Wow! Brings back all sorts of memories of my Texas days. Love San Antone and the walk. Thanks!
