Description

Previously, the milkman came to the door, and poured milk into a measuring jug of 1 liter. You could then buy how many liters you needed. The milkman came by horse and wagon, and behind that car was kind of a tapping cock, he swung open. The farmers brought their milk (yes, from their cows, huh?) in the milk cans to the milkman. (or visa versa) I didn't sign this, looked not good together ;-) Thank you all very much

I do so like this shot, I like the old milk churns and the weathered nature of time upon them. History again.

Mies, you make me go back more than 60 years ago ... I knew this dairy ... he had a big 'sleigh' drawn by four Percheron horses, and sometimes when two delivery crossed, depending on the sex of the horses sometimes ... I attended very noisy exchanges between horses ...

A wonderful image of times past and yes I too can remember collecting milk direct from the farm in cans. But then I am a Victorian !!!

What a wonderful picture! I see it brings back many memories for people, which is good, but it's also a wonderful photograph. Composition and color are so nice! A cozy shot, with the lobelia there in the corners. :)
