Description

Summer - After the Rain The "Dutch Meadows" image series is inspired on real-life landscape pictures shot in the North-East part of the Netherlands (Europe). The (Spring) photograph which gave rise to the above render can be found at Ron ter Burg's website. Each Vue scene build from it was created in a Summer, an Autumn and a Winter version. I will release them one by one during the year, while I'll add new scenes to the series. You can enjoy them all in one go at my personal site. Enjoy, and please have a look at Ron's photographs themselves. I'm sure you'll like them as well.

I was just saying to myself that I hadn't seen a meadow image for a while and wondered if I missed one..... I'm glad to notice I hadn't when I did see this new one :) This one is really nice, I like the typical dutch flatness and vastness you put into it. The clouds seem to be a bit flat, they could be more volumetric perhaps and I guess a bit greener grass would give a better impression of the season, but that can be personal taste as well.

thanks for comments. Did I vest a tradition? The gap was planned, for vacation and things, and I still owe you two series of three, so: 5 renders to follow. This series is not the best. The clouds are by far too cartoony and lack relevant detail. Grass color is a thing, when it becomes greener the image starts to lack color shades. This setup is more interesting but less realistic, it's more an August kind of grass after a long dry period. But it's The Netherlands, and the image is called "after the rain", so that's some contradiction. But I'm learning ... (slowly). Do have a peek at Ron's photos by the way. Funny there is a landscape photographer with the same name. When I've improved enough, we might try an exhibition together: photo and 3D next to each other.

I've been to his website a couple of times and his images are really outstanding. An exhibition together sounds like a great idea, that would be cool to see the real thing hanging besides the created thing. Nicely colored grass, but keepinhg it realistic is hard indeed and good clouds take ages to render, that is one of the drawbacks of Vue's rendering engine.
