Description
Did this image to showcase some of the new features of OctaneRender 2.0 and also present the compatibility of our RedSpec TGX with 2.0
I made use of a couple of the new stuff in this image:
- Displacement mapping on the armor, the rocks, and sand in the background
- Octane Daylight + HDRi (the Sun is taking care of lighting the image, while the HDRi is there to reflect in the armor and bring it to life)
- Used Area render to get rid of render noise in the shadowy areas. - worked pretty damn well.
Poser 2014 --> Octane 2.0
S/P: ~ 5.000
Rendering time: ~ 2 hrs. (GTX Titan Black + GTX 760)
Light source: Octane Daylight + HDRi
RedSpec: TGX 1.0 redspec and RedSpec Flora -
Thanks for stopping by
Take care

5.000 S/Pix !!! Without gpu acceleration i should let it render for a couple years to get that high on my quad core :) Great image indeed...

Once the industry figures out a way to handle the VRAM and texture limit bottleneck of modern GPUs I guess the sky is the limit. For smaller scenes like this one GPU rendering already pays off hugely though. Thanks for your comment :)
