Description
Wildlife photgraphy is not really my forte..too impatient I guess. However, walking along the edge of the pool in Stromovka i watched two adult coots in the tall rushes and they were shepherding a group of their young through the rushes. These young were not cuddly, lovable looking and they swam very quickly. But I tried to follow them to get some shots and this is one of the better results. Please zoom

Great discovery and fine shot, their babies have the kind of looks only a mother could love but they grow up into quite handsome birds. Well done with that capture.

Well I've heard of and even been called an old coot, but I never heard of or seen a baby of that species. A very nice capture of the fledgling, as it negotiates its way around the rushes, Jean. Oh, and a zoom doesn't increase the size, at least on my end.

A fantastic shot. I've never seen a coat baby before. When they grow up they do have a white spot on the forehead, if I'm not mistaken.
