Hi everybody,
My name is Dana Pommet and my wife’s name is Josephine. I was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, in 1942, and except for a tour in the Navy, lived there for most of my life. I retired to Delray Beach, Florida in December 2000. We love to travel and photography goes hand and hand with that. I went digital about 5 years ago and started posting November 22, 2008. I have met so many wonderful people on RR and that makes this whole process so much more interesting than just posting photos. Thanks for all the comments and keep them coming.
Update  January 2012: After hiding and denying my mild Dyslexia, for most of my professional life, and now fighting with its advancement – I want to thank you all for putting up with my poor typing skills and spelling problems. I know that my spell checker hates me and I now depend completely on audio books rather then actually reading printed books.  Life marches on!  Â

I can picture it as an owl :)

Could be! I wouldn't want to be the one to maintain it.

I don't know, but why not a owl ;-) Nice shot, Dana!

funny and special find! looks like a face unhappy with its hat! g Culloden: I think it was because the scots were used their rough terrain from birth on! maybe thats the reason! I also visited Culloden but was disappointed because all what you could see was a cultivated field ;o)

Looks like a modern form of totem to me. Thanks for sharing, Dana...

I like it whatever it is supposed to be!

It's art, so whatever you see is what you see, I guess. I can see an owl, and I can also see it as just an abstract...nicely captured, whatever it is!

amazing

When I first looked at this, I was not seeing the top strip of it. I saw a well endowed woman with big earrings. But then I scrolled up and she was rather lacking in the head department. Of course she's lacking in the arms department too, but then so is Venus de Milo, though she does have legs. So an owl sounds really good about now. :) Great shot!

I love it Lucinda - a great comment!!!!!

could be an owl or a man with a thinking cap on lol

The owl's around there must have a very strange diet ! LOL Been playing a fair bit of Borderlands 2 and this looks like a Totem pole from one of the levels ! ~Cheers~

Whatever it is, in any case, it is a work of art. An excellent and interesting shot.

UHU.... I'm a owl...... LOL I LOVE THIS SCULPTURE!!!!

If this is meant to be an owl, it's a philosophical owl lost in its thoughts on the abstract. :) The very top of the curious sculpture reminds me of an ancient Egyptian motif showing the Sun Disc with its rays. You've got to give credit to the person who did this for such weird originality!

I see the owl too Dana, a wonderful capture and thanks so much for sharing with us my friend. hugs Jane xx

Looks like a Papua/New Guinea totem of a cannibal Dana!
Jay-el-Jay
I think that it is just a purely artistic construction.A non-representational abstract and quite cool.

I can see the face in It but not sure about an Owl.
