Being in America it has no nipples. Oops, perhaps it is not even allowed to say the n word! Fascinating thingy to have outside the door .

Oh look, someone left their sphinx tied up by the door again! I wish they'd at least leave it a bowl of water. What a strange sight, and I think it had nipples but they likely got rubbed off by windstorms, along with its nose and lips. A very odd creature, one of many that seemed to proliferate way back eons ago in the fertile crescent... You would think they'd at least give it a blanket to lie on! What a fun image this is, Mark; is the sphinx really there or did you levitate it over from Egypt?

Excellent depth, high contrast and composition in this photo of the full chested Sphinx or Asian goddess wannabe, Mark, sitting stoically atop a bubble bath, in front of what might be the entrance to Fort Knox. Man, am I one for analogies. Hope your back is better.

I look. I see. I stare. I think...dark, light, full, rich. Then unique, distinctive, individual, special, even idiosyncratic:) I like!

I love those shiny black doors! And a brick sphinx. Who'd-a thunk it? This is a great find, and an excellent image. The hints of color show up most on our enigmatic door guard, but there's just enough to show off the potted tree, which is a lovely counterpoint to the dark doors. Nicely done!

Silent as the Sphinx---somehow that's what came to mind when I saw this. But this poor Sphinx has to sit there in the snow; I'll bet he missed the desert heat he's used to! Wonderful contrasts!!

Mark, you really have an eye for these photographic opportunity's. This highly detailed doorway setting is one that I'm certain catches the eye of most everyone that passes by it. The highly detailed small version of the sphinx is fantastic, and the even shows a few characteristics of the amazing original. Once again your choice for the timing of this photo was perfect, as the lighting here really helped bring this scene together.
