grown as weed on piece of wasteland a few streets from my home, previous poppy pics where captured in my garden TFV & comments zoom recommended

We have a wild one that grows out here called the 'Mexican Golden Poppy'. They appear in early spring especially if we had good winter rains. Not sure if they are the same genus.

Peter Piper picked a peck of purple poppies to photograph. Great color, focus and composition in this field capture, Martin. Actually, the poppy looks a dark pink or magenta rather than purple.
