Gosh, Nicolay, that is brilliant but mildly alarming!

Perhaps it's due to some hostilities nearby (70 miles away) in East Ukraine, Andrea. Thank you, my friend!

Your work is so individual; no one does this like you do! Such an atmospheric and rugged feeling, and so fascinating in zoom!

One of the things I love about your artwork is the fact that many of your pieces remind me of things I've read over the years, especially things that don't exactly fit within the more "realistic" genres. Though your work is totally different, I'm still reminded of the intense imagery of M. John Harrison (without the grotesque, though compelling sense of darkness and claustrophobia) and the refreshing, surreal, not-entirely-depressing darkness that China Mieville creates so well. China Mieville would be quite at home in your city as you've photographed an amended it here, and I wouldn't be surprised to learn that in Rostov-na-Donu, there's a house constructed entirely of old washing machines. That's what I really like about this particular image. It's clearly something real. I can recognize the cables for trams or electric trains or even those tram-buses that never break contact with the overhead cables. I love the pervasive darkness and the glints of sunlight on the windshields and other reflective surfaces, but your brush work and your other, skillful amendments seem to bring out the texture of the city, rather than to add something that isn't there. This is really superb work. It's making a trip into my favorites. Feel free to do more of these! Also, it's funny, I lived in Prague when I first saw your work, and seeing this piece, today, brought all of those earlier images to mind; what a good feeling that was!

Your photography and a few touches of your other favourite element - namely the Corel painter brushes, bring this alive ... I also do like the POV and the overlay of different composites, great skills Nikolay, BB
