View onto the Mamores behind Kinlochleven.
Some of you asked about the brown grass:
It was september, beginning autumn
And the treeline here is in about 500 m height.
And some also are wondering about the missing trees:
At first scotland was a jungle. Since the 16th century human started to cut trees for mines and later for the english shipbuilding. Also sheep fed away the ground so that the scots were planting trees which could stand against the wind. But that was the reason that the ground became acid soil and almost no native tree could grow there.
