Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Here I thought that the farmers just had really good driving skills...what a wonderful view you've got of this well-drafted field, Bill! I guess this stuff has to become technologized when the acreage is so big.

The wonders of modern science - so clever to a mere mortal like me!!! Great shot Bill.

More machines to replace man :( Oh well. But honestly, I cannot see the point in dead straight lines, so what if the corn is crooked. Does not mean you didn't take a great shot mate, just me being me.

No never thought of that. Super example. X

Fantastic image !

A very intersting photo, but monoculture has been and will be death to thousands of species, and this sort of farming is about monocultures.
Faemike55
Very cool capture but at what price precision?
goodoleboy
Monoculture? What is that all about? Anyway, tons of depth in this one, and is highly suggestive of a wide tarmac at an airport, Bill. All it needs are white stripes.

I don't know how they do it; when I used to have a big garden, all my rows were NEVER this straight!!

It's amazing how the technology had changed the farming industry. Plowing by GPS.... And these lines are definitely precise. I like the elevated view here, Bill! What'd you do....... Go out and get yourself a Phantom?? LOL! Very cool shot!
flavia49
excellent

Excellent shot, Bill, but I must admit I feel more like a dinosaur every year when I see all this technology, even on tractors!
auntietk
It's absolutely astonishing, isn't it? I see your photograph has brought up all sorts of comments and opinions. Ain't art fun? :)
Richardphotos
it makes sense about gps. I was wondering how they managed to create such consistent rows of plowed fields
