Description

I must find a better way of organizing my photos. They are literally all over the place. If I had a crash, I would lose quite a bit. Gonna focus on getting that sorted slow but VERY sure. Caught this little guy the other evening out back in our yard / garden. This is the closest I have managed though this image is slightly cropped.

OK. These guys get a bad rap. It is not their fault that humans plant such wonderful food for them! If you have ever been involved in raising a groundhog, you will understand that they are wonderfully intelligent creatures. They will also follow you around like a puppy every where you go. I had a state trooper bring me 6 babies a few years ago. He saw them on the roadside by their dead mother. When I deal with mean people, I try and remember that I have come across some very good ones. This is a great capture. I know how hard it is to get near a wild adult. Good one.

It's lovely. RE backing up your photos, it's gotten so easy now as pocket sized hard drives are cheap and have massive storage.

What a cutie! He's such a bright-eyed neighbor. :) Aside from the issue of backing up ... I have a file folder for "my pictures," and then under that are a lot of other files, one of which is "my camera." In that folder are files for each year. So let's say I went out today and took a bunch of pictures in Anacortes (a lovely town near here.) I would open the file for 2014 and create a new file labeled "06-22-14 Anacortes" and copy the pictures off my card into that file. Tomorrow's pictures would be, "06-23-14 flowers," or whatever. That way all my pictures are in chronological order, with a word or two to tell me what I'm going to find in the file. Just a date isn't enough information for me. I need that extra notation. Hope that helps!
