Female Stag beetle Lucanus servus in my garden on a warm June evening.

Phenomenally terrific clarity and detail in this shot. The Stag in the name means it is genetically predisposed to go alone to parties and see if he can pick up females of the species.

Isn't she lovely. I think Harry is on to something. It never occurred to me that anyone but the Fab Four could produce a "beetles" album. Outstanding clarity. You can see every detail on her exoskeleton.
