Description

Back in April, these guys were slow and sluggish on a cool spring morning. I wouldn't try this now that it is hot and they are feisty. Thanks very much for your recent comments and faves.

Yellow jackets are bad tempered aren't they? I remember capturing a wasp on fennel back a few years, and after the capture, it promptly stung me on the neck, guess it didn't take too kindly to having a lens jabbed in it's face LOL This is an outstanding shot Maria.

Blimey, a bloomin' wasp, it is! Terrific clarity and patterns in this portrait of the lovely insect, as it negotiates its way across what appears to be the skin of a citrus fruit, probably an orange, Maria.

Killer shot! Love the colors in this image. A quick tip, to calm these guys a little in the heat, use a spray bottle of water and mist them. They are one insect that seems to want to stop and clean the water off immediately. Gives you a bit of breathing room for a shot of them cleaning.
