Hi, I am Barbara and live in Lincolnshire. I love nothing better than walking with my 3 dogs, (Large Munsterlanders) and taking the camera along. Iam afraid my photographic skills are not very good, I just point and click & hope for the best. Sometimes I do take some nice shots!!
I have lived with this breed since 1986, before that I had border collies. I was told when getting my first Munster, Jenna, I would become addicted and I sure was, owning 7 of this breed over the years.
Although Munsters are a working gundog, afraid I couldn't shoot anything, so we do other things like, showing, obedience and heelwork to music.
The girls are all different & I hope to show that in their pictures.
I would like to thank my good friend Janeeden for persuading me to get started.
Video's & songs for the girls can be seen on www.jendellas.com

Wonderful capture. I agree with you on your points of animal instinct

True! But I suppose they have a breeding programme.

Zoos have both good and bad points. I had a hamster when I was very young. He escaped one day and I thought we'd lost him till I was out playing the next day. He'd scaled the house wall and was up on the roof! My dad risked life and limb to rescue him:)

I thinks zoo's these days exist on the basis of conserving endangered species and educating, fact being many children and in some cases adults too will only ever see some of these animals in the future stuffed in the natural history museum rather like the Dodo and the Great Auk to name two. Nice capture of this stunning big cat. I worry greatly about the beautiful snow Leopard. Many animals are on the endangered list and it's shocking how some will be extinct in our lifetime all because of man's selfishness.

Beautiful big cat, outstanding capture!

Yes it is sad that the Cheetah cannot have a large reserve in order to follow his instincts, but sadly this is the way it is for many. Many wild animals are paying the price for the depletion of their species brought on by man, so surely if for instance this Cheetah is part of a breeding programme to bring back their species to its former numbers then why can't it have more space? Or maybe it is there just for humans to see it and gawp at it, I would hope that at least it is there for the reason of saving its own species. hugs and love xxxxxxxx

You got some amazing pictures! I agree with you!

A fantastic zoom and I agree with you about instincts. Just think about the killer whale at Sea World, Orlando, Florida. Born in captivity and so many years performing in captivity but he attacked and killed the trainer anyway!

It takes more then a few years to breed out the wildness from an animal. Look how many years it took for us to become somewhat civilized (: Such a beautiful animal, and it is a shame that many zoos just don't have the space or the money to provide the wide spaces these animals really should have.
