Description

Avast, ye land lubbers! Captured on Father's Day, 6/15/14, at a channel adjacent to the Los Angeles Waterfront. As you can tell by the third photo, the beautiful tour boat is based out of the beautiful city of Avalon, on beautiful Catalina Island, 26 miles west of Southern California. These shots were not taken from a bridge, boat, pier, jetty, quay, wharf, dock, levee, landing, nor the good ship Lollipop. I will reveal where I was standing somewhere down the line, so stay tuned, because there are many more boat pics to come. A ZOOM would be cool. Bon voyage.

Did you take the express across the sea? I have heard that Catalina is having a serious drought. And to the matter at hand, wonderful photos of this boat carrying all those people 26 miles across the sea :)

Not being familiar with the area I have no idea where your vantage point was, however from the POV, I'll hazzard a guess at ' you've got yourself a jet-pack '. At first glance I thought this was a CHiP's convention, on second viewing, Boy Scouts of America ??

I have no idea where you were, so I guess I'll just have to stay tuned ;) I hate to admit that in all my years living down there I never once made it to Catalina; one of my sisters did, but I think that's the extent of it. Wasted opportunities, eh? What an enlightening series of shots of this island-bound ship, Harry, full of what appear to be boy scouts on an outing? Great work here!!

I know right where this is; went out with my brother one day to fish. And I'm pretty sure I know where you are as well!! I took the Catalina Express out of Newport Beach a couple of times; it's a great trip and Catalina is beautiful.
