Description
Fairly often and for quite a while too. Shot conditions: outdoor summer, mostly cloudy, just under 30' from the lens, hand held no flash. Not the best conditions. It is sitting on a Crape Myrtle branch. The lens is my Sigma 'Bigma'. The 50-500 mm Zoom. It did pretty good here.

Great capture! I've seen many hummingbirds sitting, even walking. So it's not as rare a some may think.

I see them sit time to time, but usually on the electrical wire in my yard. Very nice capture of this beautiful bird.

No humming birds in Europe!? Whoa! In the Houston, Texas area there is only one regular hummingbird. The Rubythroated Hummingbird. We see the occasional transient on its way through, the Rufous Hummingbird. California, on the Pacific side of the mountains, have several species.
