Description

British battlecruiser HMS Hood, between the wars the largest gunship in the world, was famously sunk by the German battleship Bismarck and the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen in the Battle of the Denmark Strait. To close the range, Admiral Holland made the fatal mistake of heading straight for the German ships, taking up the wrong part of the "T." The cause of the sinking is still a controversy. Whether it was a hit by Bismarck, or the effects of a hit by Prinz Eugen, it doesn't really matter. Hood sank in three minutes leaving only three survivors. The various theories involving the sinking make interesting reading. Poser 6/Bryce 6. The Hood is by Chris Schell.

Once again "Jacky" Fisher was proven wrong...speed did not make up for lack of armor.

Beautiful ship, it has been one of my favorites, it was one of the first models I built when I was nine or ten, outstanding work!
