Description
The tree that the Mississippi Kite nested in last year was struck by lightning and had to be cut down.
This year she is nesting in a tree nearby which is not far from my house.
Unfortunately, for me, there is so much foliage that I won't be able to get many good shots of her and the chick.
She is looking up in this shot at two Western Kingbirds that constantly strafe and dive bomb her.
If being a mother isn't difficult enough, she has to endure this harassment from the Kingbirds, who must have a nest nearby.
Thank you for your recent views, comments, and faves.

I hope to see more of this little poor mother and her difficulties with the other residents. This is lovely.

I guess mama bird is not happy with all the constant attacks from the Kingbirds... Aloha

Too bad about the foliage for you, but it's probably a good thing in her mind. How wonderful to have this nest near you!

I would be thrilled to be able to observe this so nearby. Great shot, and I hope to see more of these as the chick gets older!

Yes, life is hard, even for birds. I hope the little ones grow up well. An excellent and interesting capture.
