Description
One of the more than 10,000 geothermal features in Yellowstone. This particular one is located a short distance from Old Faithful. Many are named & at first I tried to keep track of them, but after seeing hundreds of them, I stopped bothering unless they were truly unique & spectacular. For this shot, I waited for passersby on the other side to capture their reflections & I like the fact that you can simultaneously see the surface reflections & into the depths of the pool.
Yellowstone contains about as many geothermal features as are known to exist in the rest of the world combined. Steam clouds are visible almost everywhere & the air smells like sulfur if you're anywhere near them. It started to bother my wife, who has a very keen sense of smell, but I got used to it & it didn't bother me at all. Please zoom...

Zoom a must!!!!!! I recently saw a documentary about Yellow Stone which explained that if this "Super Massive volcano" errupts, we are all doomed. Love how you captured the depth of the water.
