Description
This is the Band-stand in the Forbury Gardens in Reading.
I have been unable to find any information speciific to this structure but it has been here for many years.
I believe it was quite old when, as a small child, I was taken to see my father playing in the brass band on this very spot - back in about 1959 or 1960.
Though I didn't get to see them this year, the same band still play here, though there are none of the musicians from my fathers time left and their material now reflects a more recent age. :-)
