10 days ago, the body of Renea Lau, 32, a pastry chef at a local upmarket dessert business, was found at the base of this tree. Strangers have left flowers and cards underneath it. "Our city grieves with you and for you," read one card.
She had been raped and then strangled to death. The police have taken an American man into custody.
In my opinion, there is nothing lower in this world than someone who preys on the defenceless, whether it be a woman, child or an animal. People who do are pathetic, weak gutter mice.
Real men do not do these things.

So sad to see mate. Those who take someones life should forfeit their own in my opinion. Who knows what sort of life this young lady would have had. Such a waste.

In the UK an incident of domestic violence is reported to the police each minute, and on average 2 women a week are killed by a male partner or ex partner. Not counting incidents like this appalling crime. Btw I wish there was a law against leaving the wrapping on tribute flowers, when they die the dead person is commemorated by a disgusting mound of litter.

I agree totally with you, This is cowards thing. Here in my country violence is our daily bread. Some times I think in how beautiful would be our world without humans.

I think about how bad things are in this world just about every day. Eveywhere you look there's crime and hatred, human's can't get along and work out their problems or get help with their problems in a safe way without hurting someone in the process. But to do something like this person did is beyond my words here and it just makes me sad that people can do things like this and not feel any remorse for their actions, so now there's a young lady here that will never be able to live out her life and I'm sure she probably was a great lady. It's a very sad, sad world we live in. Stan

Unfortunately our "humane" laws treat perpetrator better than the victim. You may call me cruel but in my opinion if you kill, you have to save a life. So many good decent people are waiting for transplants.

We are seeing too many of these kind of memorials in all of our countries! It is so sad...I do agree that rapists/murderers and child molesters should be dealt with as harshly and cruelly as they were to their victims! I'm rating this photo high in support of families and friends of victims everywhere!

A moving capture of a sad and sickening event. There are no words, no curses or punishments in existence that are severe enough for this kind of cowardly filth. Sadly, it's becoming all too frequent here in the US, and all over the world. Let the sharks dine on the scum that did this, IMO.

There aren't enough words to describe how horrible a crime like this is. I think the perfect punishment for the perpetrator would be exactly what he did to her. Seems like he'll have a special place in hell when he's caught.

IMHO I agree with you 100% and a nice touch to add the second photo of the note! Hang him by the balls in a very public place and give away free whips. The lowest animal on the face of the earth. WOW!!!! It felt good to saw that.
