Not always easy to capture the bloom of firework displays, I have tried every year with varied success, one tends to want to hold the camera but that ultimately requires a reasonably fast shutter speed in order to avoid blur... this is a very good shot. We are dealing with two problems with fireworks... night shooting and the need to capture the bloom. Often the challenge is to capture the entire course of the firework and that requires longer exposures and tripods and pre-planning, probably from a slight distance away so you can frame it up.. in some ways it's a variation of the rules when painting with light.
