BEST VIEWED AT FULL-SCREEN ------------------------------------------- This piece is the result of playing around with Flipmode's excellent product: WET, SKIN & RAIN. When I made my other piece called WET, I created the effect of rain, wet hair, and wet skin in post production. For this work, the skin was quite easily done using Flipmode's product. However, I began to wonder (with my limited 3D knowledge), "How can I make the clothes and hair look drenched as well?" The hair proved to be relatively easy - I simply adjusted the morphs to bring it more tightly against the model's head. For the clothes, I found that reducing the OPACITY of the shirt to 70% let the wet skin underneath show through enough to give the illusion of the shirt clinging (without making it so transparent as to require an ADULT warning. haha). For the denim shorts, I chose a different option. Remembering how dark denim gets when it becomes soaked, I reduced the DIFFUSE setting to 30%, and - Voilà! - drenched denim! The puddle in the upturned umbrella proved another challenge (again, my limited knowledge and experience probably chose the most difficult work-around, but that's all I have to work with at this point in my 3D education. *smile*). I found that if I pushed the umbrella a little way into the ground, one of the puddles created by Flipmode's product showed in the umbrella without the ground showing as well. Problem solved. Hopefully, it's not just my own perceptions at work here, and I sincerely hope that these work-arounds will be satisfactory in your own perception of this piece as well. I hope you enjoy.
