Description

This is the wheel that will be used in all of the Formula E cars held by a member of the team aguri pit crew , I can explain it a little aswell. Starting on the right is the Driver to Team Radio button so that's pretty common next to that is the Brake bias dial to adjust them next to that with the big B is the Battery mapping the teams have been having some teething issues here because they are trying to figure out which is best for the cars a low map will mean they can go for longer but a higher map will run the battery out quicker next to that the big M is the electric motor mapping it goes in hand with the battery map a high setting means the car will use more of its capability but like the battery map too much and it will run the battery out quicker so they need to figure out how to set this two to the right settings to maximise performance and run time which at the moment is around 12 laps. the other bits are pretty easy to understand the dash button I think has something to do with something in the car reverse is simple its the reverse gear and of course N is neutral and pit is the pit limiter the display I believe display's the rev's and the speed which is in KPH and they have a speed of around 140MPH which is the max these cars are likely to achieve on a street circuit and the red bar is of course a rev gauge and the lights beside it I believe are the caution indicators ie Red flag and yellow flag. I learnt a lot of the above by asking team members and finding out as much as I can and for those interested a FIA member who had a good 10min chat with me today said Long beach is using the same track as the open wheel races already in the us but will not use 1 loop in the track and the races will last between 45mins to an hour with a car change in between so each team will have 4 cars 2 for each driver costing a team around 1.6 Million UK Pounds or around 2.5 Million dollars for 4 cars.
