Description

Thymelicus sylvestris. This is a very lively little butterfly and quite tricky to get a snap of, so I was very pleased with this. See one from above Here You may also be interested in comparing it with the Large Skipper Here

Great shot and fantastic detail, keeping the focus under control has been done well here... natural too. You are doing things with a compact that some people cannot even do with a digital SLR, at the end of the day it comes down to knowledge of the camera being used and knowing how to get the best from it. During my Exmoor zoo shoot I noticed two others there using Panasonic compact cameras, one of those was in the TZ range too... I took a TZ5. well done.

A spectacular capture with amazing clarity and details. Seems like a curious little fellow. Your skippers are much more colorful than ours. Still cute but a dull brown.

He's such a hairy little fellow, which you wouldn't suspect watching them flit around. Fantastic detail in this well-done shot!

A gorgeous head on photo - I have only seen a couple of these skippers and it took me a ling time to realize that it was not a humming bird!
