Description
This image is fascinating in that those rods are formed: common extrusive igneous (volcanic) rock formed from the rapid cooling of basaltic lava exposed at or very near the surface of a planet or moon.
In this shot you can easily see the trails and rails
don't have vertigo when you climb this one!

Basalt I believe, is the oldest rock on earth.. Mostly found on the sea bed.. There you go lessons for today are finished lol Excellent shot mate! Rob

As far as I know, basalt is the oldest rock on earth. Very impressive photo! Very well done!
