Description

My dearest Poppy, hope this finds you well. Still can't say where we are, security and all that. Stopped to admire the pyramids today and one of our pickets caught a jerry, very dejected looking specimen I must say. He was handed over to an officer from Military Intelligence, a most unpleasant chap, I almost felt sorry for the Hun. Well, must sign off now, try not to worry I'm fine, oh yes, how are you getting along with those French chaps they've billeted with you ? Do write soon, though heaven only knows when the next mail will get through.... hugs and kisses, Norman xxx A bit more G2 kit by Tryphon, wonderful stuff mixed in with a bit of DoMus, bet you can't see the joins......thanks also to ranman38 for the Sherman ( Sandtex'd at The Plant )

The Sherman is such an underappreciated tank. Ranman38 has a great version or two. I love the Firefly with the big gun. Just as a quick question, Neil, did the Americans build Shermans for Britain during WWII? I never thought about it before.

The first 400 went straight to Montgomery in North Africa.

Excellent work! The composition and poses are wonderful. I'm sure no one in the censor's office noticed the reference to pyramids in Norman's letter. :-)

Very cool, Neil! The varied uniforms really are a treat to use. I was wondering what they were all looking at until I zoomed the image and then realized that they were looking at the little "zoom out" icon under the enlarged picture. Probably trying to figure out if it was some enemy device planted under the sand.

Ha! I love the placement of the zoom out icon. Really adds humour to the image. Nice set up and render. By the way, check my comment to Debbielove's photo of the Fighting Eagle. It's partly a tribute to you. Keep up the good work! :-)

There one can see some elements of Tryphons Desert Rats set. It's great and very versatile. With the KD and Desert Rats sets, a lot of combinations are possible to resemble other forces than the Brits. Yeah, I like Tryphons work. He is great. You did a wonderful work, neiwil. Greetings to the island from the continent. ;-)

Great job Neil mate, super looking scene you've created here.. The Sherman has a long and often hard history.. If you read, as I'm sure allot of you do, you can only learn the hard way.. The gun was rubbish, thus the up-gunned Firefly, the thing brewed easily.. BUT, there were lots! That was good, very good.. As Neil says the first 400 were sent straight to the 8th Army (Desert Rats) in the Desert.. Trial by combat... Top job Neil mate! Rob
