Description
Artist Point is located on the south rim of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone (not to be confused with THE Grand Canyon in Arizona) & offers some beautiful views of the cliffs, river & waterfall. I didn't do an extraordinary amount of postworking on this photo, but somehow it came out looking very much like a painting (to my eyes anyway). I believe it's due to the colorful jagged cliffs & the way the late afternoon sun was hitting them. More photos from the Canyon to follow...

That's quite a canyon! It looks like it gets a lot of runoff from above, in addition to what comes from upstream. Such fascinating walls!

I was at Artists point during a very heavy snow fall in May 2011 and because of the snow I didn't see all this wonder.
