Description

This was for a "Flying Machine" theme. Damn what a nightmare this one was. It was originally a plain Lightwave object from Foundation 3D with no textures, but converting it to Imagine was a bitch. Firstly, it was unnecessarily high in its poly count and it resisted any attempts to lower the poly count as it would make the mesh butchered not matter what tools I tried and no matter what program. Also, there were random flipped poly's in 3dsmax which made any poly reduction I could do end up as massive tears in the mesh. I had to flip as many polys as I could by hand. Then the mesh would not export to Imagine. The DXF and 3ds exports were not readable by Imagine, so I had to export to Cinema4D and export to DXF there which finally was readable by Imagine. Any further poly reduction in Imagine also butchered the mesh. So I was left with a massively high poly count and unbearable slow rendertimes with soft shadows (several days of rendering each pass with each frame split up between 9 copies of Imagine running simultaneously). So this was all much more work than the end result warranted IMO *sigh* Well, I'm done now. Enjoy
