Description
A break from my Yellowstone landscapes, though I took this photo on the same trip. We stopped along the way in Boise, Idaho & after unpacking at the hotel, asked the hotel clerk for suggestions for a walk in town. She suggested Julia Davis Park, so we headed over there. We noticed there was a zoo near the park & approached it, but it was late in the afternoon & they were just closing. There was a small lagoon along the outside of the zoo & as we were walking away towards the park, that's where I spotted this dragonfly. Probably a better shot than I could have gotten inside the zoo!
Please zoom for much better detail...

Indeed an excellent shot and well done for taking the opportune moment. The gold and sheer of the insect stand out so nicely against the well blurred dark background. The contrast of both color and focus is excellent. Great technical shooting.
